The oscillator section is used to generate harmonic, inharmonic, and metallic types of sounds.
Main Oscillator Section
- Waveform - Select the waveform.
- Layers - Select the number of layers.
- Balance - Adjust the balance between the oscillator layers.
Modulation
The modulation adds audio-rate amplitude changes to each oscillator layer.
This can add additional harmonics to the signal which can make the oscillator sound richer, more metallic or more like noise.
- Waveform - Select the waveform.
- Depth - Adjust how much amplitude modulation is applied to the oscillator waveforms. Note that at higher levels the amplitude modulation switches to ring modulation.
- Rate - Adjust the rate of modulation.
- Jitter - Add randomness the to modulation rate. This can make some signals oscillators sound more like noise.
Filter
The filter is a resonant bandpass filter for shaping the sound. Any changes you make to the filter will be reflected in the frequency editor.
- Drag left or right to adjust the slope of the filter.
- Drag up or down to adjust the overall resonance of the filter.
