Transport
- lock - Lock the current pattern. You can prevent the sequencer from changing patterns while you edit them.
- sequencer - Show or hide the sequencer editor.
- pattern editor - Show the pattern editor, or select next/previous pattern.
- play button - Turns on or off the sequencer.
Pattern Manager
- Cut/Copy/Paste You can use these buttons to cut, copy, or paste the current pattern.
- Current Pattern You can select the current pattern using the arrow buttons labeled next.
- Next Pattern You can select the next pattern in the chain using the arrow buttons labeled next.
- Repeat This setting determines how many times the current pattern will play before it switches to the next pattern in the chain.
- Note You can switch patterns using midi. When the midi note is received, the pattern will switch
Step Sequencer
- Velocity Left click to turn on notes. Right click to turn off notes. Left Drag up and down to adjust the velocity of notes.
- Random Groups
Each pattern can have six variations. Click on the numbers to enable or disable steps in the variation. At the beginning
of each beat, a variation will be randomly chosen and displayed on the dice. Only notes that are enabled for the variation will play.
Some possible uses are:- - Randomly insert ghost hits.
- - Randomly switch between drums (for example: ride vs hihat).
- - Randomly insert fills.
- Blending Adjust the XY controller to control the sound blending for each pad.
- Accents
You can set the following types of accents for each note:
- - X - Normal Hit
- - XX - Double Hit
- - Xx - Accented Double Hit
- - XXX - Triple Hit
- - Xxx - Accented Triple Hit
- - 1st - Only play note on the first repetition of the pattern.
- - ~1st - Don't play note on the first repetition of the pattern.
- - last - Only play note on the last repetition of the pattern.
- - ~last - Don't play note on the last repetion of the pattern.
Sequencer Presets
You can quickly set the pattern for the current instruments by clicking on one of the presets.
Sequencer Controls
- Velocity Range Use the velocity range to scale up or down the velocity for the current beat of the current instrument.
- Random Knob
Adjust the amount of randomness for the current selected parameter in the step sequencer.
If you hold shift, it will affect all the notes in the step sequencer.
You the random setting works as follows:
- - Velocity - Adjust the amount of velocity variation.
- - Random Group - Adjust how often the note plays.
- - XY Blend - Adjust how much variation there is in the XY point that is played.
- - Fill Mode - Adjust how often the double or triple hits can occur.
- Swing Settings You can adjust the swing settings for the current instrument. You can select the swing division: 8th notes or 16th notes, the swing amount, and copy the current settings globally to all other drums.
